Posts Tagged ‘So What do we do About Henry’

Well Dear Reader, today is my final day at my job of seven years (well this morning is if we’re being pedantic). And how do I feel? Well very oddly I feel nothing much. It’s sad to be leaving friends, but then I can come and see them anytime, it’s sad to be leaving clients but they’ll survive and it’s sad to be leaving the person whom I’ve worked for for all this time, but he seems entirely unperturbed by the situation so maybe it’s all for the best. I didn’t expect to be heartbroken but neither did I expect to feel this nothingness…very strange. I am also doing my last shift at the pub on Sunday and I’m looking forward to having my weekends back more than anything else. The Other Child has Sunday lunches and sleepovers for the Smallest Baby Girl planned and that may be just what the doctor ordered as it look as though TG is about to disappear for months on end – to South Africa this time. It’ll be London for a few weeks, then SA, back for Christmas and then gone until June…we’ve got so out of the habit of his being away that I think it’ll be tough. Mind you I’ll be busy trying to find all the ships that I’ve sent God knows where in my new job so that’ll keep me out of mischief!

Next week is a much needed week off. Not that it’s going to be quiet with our play that opens on Thursday (with endless rehearsal in between as we have one of our actors who doesn’t know their lines…and before you ask, no it isn’t me) – it’s called ‘So What do we do About Henry’, a gentle little meander of a comedy which is set in Cornwall (I have the world’s dodgiest accent) and in which I play the leading man’s slightly nymphomanic girlfriend. No comments please! Thankfully I am only required to have a brief nano second of semi nudity because, if I’m being honest, the diet went south quite some time ago and the muffin top has grown at an alarming rate!

I also plan much making of stuff for Christmas next week. I have three cushions on order, things to finish for Christmas fairs and jar tops to cut out. I have just finished a fantastic (even if I do say so myself) selvedge cushion which is in my MISI shop. I couldn’t decide whether to keep it or sell it as it’s so lovely. Sadly the photos don’t so it justice as the weather is awful and there isn’t much good natural light but anyway…

So that’s me. Things to do, lunches to have, lines to learn, and one more day to go. Have a good weekend Dear Reader.
