So, after last week’s job (or now lack of it ) episode, I have picked myself up and dusted myself down and got on with jobs in hand – namely the commissioned cushions. Well I kind of have, in between working at the other two jobs and being dragged to the pub to watch Chelsea beat Man U (grown men shouting at a television, I ask you!).
I must admit that now I’ve got started I’m on a roll and have also dug out various UFOs (unfinished objects) that have been lurking in cupboards and drawers. I have so far got 3 cushion fronts done, revisited a quilt I began making for the Child last year, refound a quilt top that needs a back and found the materials for a baby quilt that i’ve been asked to make.
The child’s quilt in the making
The cushion ladies…
The makings of a baby quilt.
So I have not been idle. Neither am I buried under a pile of wine bottles weeping. That would be victory for the bullies and why give them the satisfaction? ‘To thine own self be true’ my Dad was always heard to say – and that does apply in this case. My conscience is clear, my heart is once again lighter and I slept on Friday night for the first time in weeks. I still look a little bit frayed around the edges but with the help of my friends and TG that’ll go. Anyway must dash, sewing to do, clothes to iron, dinner to cook……blimey, how did I managed to squash it all in before?!
P.S. Something that just came to me. If paying it forward is paying it forward does that mean that karma is paying it back (or even being paid back)?? Just a thought.
The cushions are looking great!
Thanks. I have only made the fronts so far but I’m getting there!
