Well here I am back again in good old Blighty, Dear Reader, and funnily enough quite glad to be back. Now, don’t get me wrong, Mallorca was lovely, beautiful scenery, great food and a nice drop of the old vino collapso – but it was hot. 37 degree hot to be precise and TG and I are not really the hot types (not in any sense of the word, truth be told) and we did struggle a bit. However, we managed to do lots in our little air conditioned car and even managed a day on the beach (just the one you understand) sitting under one of those straw shade affairs circa 1975. So, without boring you all to death in an Auntie Marge ‘here are our holiday snaps of Margate, don’t worry there are only 1500 of them’ style – here are in fact a few little insights into Mallorca 2010.
We stayed in a wonderful hotel, the Llenaire which was built in 1850 and is now run as an agrotourism establishment with 300 sheep, pigs and all the fruit and veg that is used in the hotel is grown in their vast acreage. It has been in the owner’s family since it was built and what used to be the family home has been very beautifully converted into a hotel.
I’d be lying if I said that we didn’t have a great time. We did. But before you think ‘smug cow’ be assured Dear Reader that we have had the obligatory steaming row since returning. Reality bites as always!!
Oh yes and just in case you were wondering – the tat circa 1975 still exists. Well it wouldn’t be Spain if it didn’t now would it?
