And so it is Dear Reader. Just like we knew it would (eventually) be – the Summer. Can I just say that I have never felt so heart burstingly proud to be British than during our seriously successful Olympics. There were more than a few teary times in the office as we cheered home runners, riders and sailors and dinner parties were temporarily halted to urge Mo and his Olympic cohorts on. It was a wonderful time (and that comes from a non sporty, very disinterested person). Maybe it was because it was here. Or maybe it was because in these days of austerity measures, gloom and doom and all the awful things you read about in the papers, it was nice to have something so unrelentingly positive. There will always be the detractors, those who sneer and snarl but I loved the opening ceremony with all its theatre and fabulousness (yes that is a real word) and equally the closing one which I just about managed to stay awake for! We did ourselves proud.
In other news, well there hasn’t been much with Cowes Week just started (but not as yet completely engaged with – plan to make up for that very soon).
The garden has finally begun to give forth produce
And we have been doing some Pimms drinking and lazing
Best of all there’s only one rehearsal this week…I know my lines 95%….Cowes here we come!!!
**I know that it seems that all we do is drink and carouse but that isn’t entirely true. However, if I told you about my exciting week of extrapolating data and making pie charts you’d have nodded off long since!
